success!

We found a couch!!

And it is lovely. It is so comfortable and soft and just the right size. We found it on Craig's List and bought it for $50 from a strange man named Ken. Ken barely said a word, never looked you in the eye and would always ask us to "meet him in the garage" as opposed to going into the house. He was the sort of strange that make serial killers strange, or child abductors strange. I think he was probably just shy and thought that Joey looked like a serial killer or child abductor, but strange nonetheless.

One down, one to go. The search is on for a fridge.

Joey got a little cold this week, but is still insisting on playing basketball tonight. Every Tuesday a bunch of guys get together at our church and ball it up for a few hours. It has evolved from being Joey, Kip and a few others to about 10-15 guys coming regularly every week. And some don't even attend our church which is awesome. It has been a great opportunity for Joey to build relationships with these guys and be able to exemplify integrity, a good attitude, leadership and "real-ness" through playing the game. It is so cool to see all the things God can use for His glory. It could be anything!

Today was the first day I decided to wear a semi-longsleeved shirt since the early springtime. It has been getting cooler lately and with the heavy clouds hanging in the air this morning it seemed right, and even wise to do so. This proved to be a pre-mature decision, and I regretted it all day. It was hot in the office, hot outside, and HOT in my car. Sometimes the seasons fool me. You think it is time, and then you fry.

Joey has been looking for jobs again lately. We have no idea if this is the time for him to start working or not. The money is getting quite small, this could be clue number one. I know he misses working at times, maybe clue number two. But with all the great things he is involved in, serving in, dedicating time to, getting ideas for - how can this be the time? How can we steal 25-30 hours a week away from all that is going on with more soon to be coming on the way? But we search, we try, we test.

We may fry. But I know I don't want to be left without a jacket when the cold comes.
